My name is Fouad Yusuf and I am from Karachi, Pakistan. Couple of years ago I visited Dir invitation of my friend from Dir. We visited both Dir Lower and Dir Upper and visited many spots little known to the world. I was amazed at the unspoiled beauty of Dir and specifically. Everywhere we went, the scenery was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. People are very friendly and hospitable and the local food is a must try for everyone visiting Dir. I also would like to say that is very safe place to visit and I recommend people to visit this beautiful area on their next vacations
I had wonderful trip, beautiful scenery, friendly people and Tour guides were well aware of surroundings and beautiful places. Thank you, Dir, for wonderful hospitality.
As someone who has travel extensively in Pakistan’s Northern areas and around the globe, I can say with absolute certainty that Dir is every bit as beautiful as some other more famous tourist destinations like Naran, Hunza or Europe. Tall mountains, beautiful valleys, scattered with rapids forms stunning landscape that offers incredible experience for those who love the outdoors. The place is extremely safe with decent access infrastructure, local population is very friendly and hospitable, food is good and above all, it is not as crowded as some of the other places as not too many people know Dir as a tourist attraction. While in Dir, you can also visit Kumrat Valley which is one of the most scenic and untouched places you will find anywhere in the world.
I have visited almost all of northern areas of Pakistan but I must say the most mesmerizing place I ever visited is Dir specially KUMRAT VALLEY Dir Upper Dir. The virgin landscapes the purity of water streams, unbelievable wooden water canals stunning water falls took my breath away. It took me a while to grasp all this unparalleled beauty, one more important fact to mention is the hospitality of the people of this area believe me wherever I stopped to buy some snacks or to have a cup of tea no shopkeeper was willing to take cash and they insisted that we are their guests and they can’t take money from guests which was such a sweet welcoming gesture. I would love to visit this Dir again very soon Insha Allah
I had been to Swat but never to Dir. Couple of years ago I visited Dir on the invitation of a friend from University who is from Dir. We visited Dir and Chitral and found Dir to be one of the hidden gems for tourists. Curvy roads, uncommercialized natural beauty and the most hospitable people makes Dir a place to visit. If there were good accommodations, I would love to take my family and spend quality time with them. I know they will love it.
I love to travel around the world and have been to many countries in central America, Europe, middle east and southeast asia. Though I was born and raised in Pakistan, I never had the opportunity and desire to explore northern areas of Pakistan. Couple of years ago I did visit Dir, Chitral and Swat. I found the people of Dir to be very unique – loving, caring and welcoming. Natura beauty is in the eyes of the beholder but people’s attitude can be quantified. People of Dir are one of the best. I heard of their Korbah and Rehbar programs and will definitely go back to Dir with my friends and family.
I own a tourism company by the name Wilderness Explorer headquartered in Burewala, Punjab with a branch office in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. We typically provide services to groups and take them to Azad Kashmir and Baluchistan. I visited Dir to explore and see the potential of making Dir as one of the potential tourist destinations. I came back so impressed with the natural beauty and welcoming people of Dir. Surprisingly I found Dir to be a very safe place. With the new Korbah and Rehbar programs in place, I will definitely take my customers to Dir.
My cousin visiting from USA took me along to Dir. I had never heard of Dir but this place is amazing and beautiful. Great people and local simple food. If you are looking for economical vacation in a beautiful place, go to Dir.
